Ipsy – May 2024 Review

We’ve looked at Ipsy as a Subscription Service here, but let’s take an in-depth look at the products we received in May 2024. Just like April’s review, I ordered both the GlamBag and the BoxyCharm to test out both box sizes again this month.

May 2024 GlamBag

GlamBag Contents:

The GlamBag is $14 + $2 of handling fees.  Since this is mostly samples it’s hard to determine the value, but we got a full sized eyeshadow palette this month.
  • Nicole Miller Lueur De La Villa – Smells so good! It’s fruity, floral, feminine and smells like spring. Unfortunately, it gives me a bit of a headache.
  • Elemis Superfood Cleansing Butter – I grudgingly like Elemis products. They are SO expensive, but I love getting their products in my boxes.
  •  Sutra Volumizing Cream – Heat protecting, volumizing cream activated by a blow dryer to add volume to fine hair.  I’m looking forward to trying this out, but I couldn’t find it to link it.
  • Reina Rebelde Sirena Palette – A newly released palette! I like that are a good number of matte shades and it has a pop of color without getting too wild.
  • ToyFactor HyLash Mascara – Another hit! Perfect tester or travel size mascara

The bag this month is really cute and well put together. If I added a lip gloss and maybe tinted moisturized, I would have all I need to travel in a small bag.

May BoxyCharm

BoxyCharm Contents:

When my box originally arrived, the side had been torn open and there were only two items:

I contacted customer service and sent them some photos. They quickly shipped out replacement items!

  • Pixi Rose Oil Blend (Retail $24) – I prefer oils to creams, so this is right up my alley.
  • Aceology Overnight Lip Mask (Retail $34.99) – Very thick, almost like Vaseline.  Not sure I’d buy this for myself, but it’s a nice product that stays on really well.
  • Tresluce Lip Gloss – Another product I can’t find anywhere else.

May 2024 Shop Purchases

They had a good sale mid-month and suckered me into a couple small purchases, mostly because Skylar is up next on my subscriptions to review.

  • Skylar Super Bloom Roller (Retail $30) – Clean citrus-y scent. I liked it and I’m looking forward to trying Skylar’s Scent Club to try more scents.
  • Terre de Mars Eye Contour (Retail $20) – This is working pretty well on my undereye circles and I’d consider ordering this again.
I paid just over $20 for these two items and the handling charge. Not bad!

Final Thoughts

I got a lot of great products again this month and Ipsy is definitely one of my favorite boxes to receive. Subscribers are getting first dibs on the some of the new products coming out, which is a pretty cool perk.

While I did have an issue with shipping and missing product this month, Ipsy was quick to make it right.  They couldn’t guarantee I’d get the exact same items as the original box, they said they would ship similar products where possible. They said it could take up to 7 business days to ship, but they had new product on the way in less than 2 business days.  I really appreciated the customer service and how quickly they acted. It makes me feel a lot more confident recommending them.

I recommend the GlamBag as an entry level subscription, but I really like getting both because of the variety of products. You can sign up here.

Which eyeshadow palette do you prefer? I’m loving the Sirena palette.
