We’ve looked at Ipsy as a Subscription Service here, but let’s take an in-depth look at the products we received in April 2024. I order both the smaller option, the GlamBag, and their larger sized box which they call BoxyCharm.
April 2024 GlamBag
Let’s dive right into it! What did I get and what were the products like?
GlamBag Contents:
- Sure Thing! Vitamin C Cleanser – This is a good budget friendly facial cleanser.
- Avant Facial Oil – I prefer oils to moisturizer because I hate paying top dollar for products that are mostly water. A little goes a long way and this is a good travel sized bottle.
- Neogen V Biome Eye Cream -. Thick moisturizer that absorbs quickly. I’m on the fence about it because it’s pretty expensive. As a sample, it’s great!
- Kiss & Smink Lip Oil in Peony – I love lip oils, so this was a big hit for me. I keep it in my purse for regular use. Definitely planning to buy more of these in the future.
- Tarte Big Ego Mascara – It’s nice and works well, but I prefer waterproof mascara and this one does not seem to be. I normally get Maybelline mascara because it should be replaced so often.
This was a nice little sampling of products and it didn’t hurt that the bag it came with is also cute.
April 2024 BoxyCharm
BoxyCharm Contents:
- Kayali Sweet Diamond Pink Pepper Travel Spray (Retail $49.99)- It smells nice, floral and sweet. The spray nozzle didn’t work very well so it basically spits the perfume out in drops more than a spray.
- Slushy Serum Moisturizer Crush (Retail $40) – This is a nice, light moisturizer that felt good on my skin. It’s one of the nicer moisturizers I’ve tried recently and a better balance of performance and value.
- First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Deep Cleanser with Red Clay (Retail $24)– Nice, light cleanser. When it said clay, I was expecting something heavier, but it’s a gel and a nice texture. I really like this!
- Lithe Gel Liner in Coffee Bean (Retail $24) – Pigmented and Smudge-proof! I love that they sent brown instead of black because black can be too harsh on me.
- Be Your Own Desire Brush Set (Retail $21.99) – I haven’t tried these yet, because I have a ton of brushes, but my initial impressions are good!
For $32 (including $2 handling fee), I received over $150 in product. I’d say that’s a pretty good deal!
April 2024 Add-ons
I got a few add-ons to test out the full ordering process. For science, of course!
- Rosie by Rosie Jane Travel Spray (Retail $28) – This light, floral scent is one I’ve been dying to try so I was thrilled this came up as an add-on option. I LOVE it and I already bought the roller version of this scent.
- Daydreams by Lucky Chick Eyeshadow Palette (Retail $20) – This is a pretty palette of purples and neutrals. It’s easy to add some color without being too wild.
- Fiesta by Chica Beauty Eyeshadow Palette (Retail $15)– Similar to the prior palette, a good mix of colors and neutrals so the palette is usable for most people.
- Seraphine Botanicals Rhubarb + Rose Lip & Cheek Palette (Retail $45) – Cream blush is my favorite and it’s harder to find now than it used to be. I was really happy to get this add on for a just a few bucks.
Final Thoughts
I got a lot of great products for about $75 total with the GlamBag, BoxyCharm, handling fees, and add-ons. That sounds like a lot, but there was a ton of value! I got over $250 of product if I base the estimate on the retail price.
Much like Allure, the products I got in the box are ones that I can and will use. I suppose it doesn’t hurt that I picked most of them.
I’m excited to get my May boxes!
