We’ve looked at Allure as a Subscription Service here, but let’s take an in-depth look at the May 2024 Beauty Box.

We’ve taken a look at the March and April boxes, so let’s see how May’s box compares.
Box Contents:
- Elemis Peptide4 Eye Recovery Cream (Retail $50) – As someone who suffers from dark circles and sometimes undereye puffiness, I need this! I would get this again if they had a great deal in the Allure store.
- Chris Appleton + Color Wow Money Masque (sample) – It says to use a “golf-ball sized dollop.” Does golf-ball sized still count as a dollop? This sample doesn’t go very far. I’m sticking with my Trader Joe’s hair mask. It’s nice to try something new once in a while though.
- BloomEffects Tulip Tint Lip & Cheek Balm (Retail $29) – I love cream blush and have always preferred it to powders. The color looks good on me and I like that it has multiple uses.
- Mudmasky Midnight Hand Mask (Retail $55) – For the price, I was expecting this to be a miracle in a bottle. It smells okay, soaks in quickly, and left my hands soft and moisturized. I like it, but this would be a purchase I could only justify for a special treat now and then.
- Natura Ekos Tukuma Exfoliating Shower Gel (Sample) – It smells really good! I want to try their creamy shower gel now, too. Maybe that will be in a future box!
- Vilhelm Parfumerie Poets of Berlin (Sample) – This is heavenly and my favorite scent that I’ve received so far. If I were rich, I would purchase the full-size bottle immediately.
The total value of this box may be slightly lower than the past few months, but it’s still worth well over $100. I consider it a good buy since it addresses some of my beauty concerns.
Final Thoughts
This box is a little less flashy than some of the past boxes, it’s one of my favorites because it’s products I need. I love the hand mask and getting the eye recovery cream.
It was absolutely worth it for me. If trying these products for a fraction of the cost is appealing to you, sign up here and get $5 off your subscription.
Some Similar Budget Friendly Treats
If the products above aren’t in your budget, this is what I would buy:
- The Ordinary Caffeine Solution ($16.99 for a 2 pack) – Reduces puffy eyes and dark circles and is more in line with my budget.
- Nyx Whipped Lip & Cheek Souffle – $7 – A good brand and price for a multi-use product.
- O’Keefe’s Working Hands Night Treatment (Retail $17.99) – It’s really good stuff!
- Inspired by Poets of Berlin (Retail $30 + shipping for 15mL) – A solid dupe for the fragrance that won’t make you choose between smelling nice and eating for the month.
