Have you ever wanted to try BarkBox, but know your dog will go through the toys faster than you go through a sleeve of Thin Mints? If your dog does their best raptor impression when they get a new toy and it’s destroyed in 30 seconds, BullyMake is the box for you.
About BullyMake
Freyja’s best friend is a Doggo Argentino mix and she can shred a toy in seconds if she wants. She splits tennis balls in her mouth immediately. BullyMake was created with dogs like her in mind.
Each box contains 2-3 durable toys and three treats. The toys are made from natural rubber, nylon, ropes, and ballistic fabrics. If a toy gets instantly destroyed, they will replace it for free. (Plush toys are an exception to that.)
Each box has a theme. For example, April 2024 was Paw & Order.
The sign-up process is short and collects your dog’s breed and size. During the last step, you can add various supplements or an extra toy at a discounted rate. Allergies don’t come up until the billing screen. The allergies listed are grains, chicken/grain and beef/grains. There is also a toys-only box available, which swaps the treats for two more toys.
BullyMake can work with you on shipping frequency, but it involves reaching out to their customer service desk.
Pricing
Each box contains toys and treats, but I was unable to find an approximate value of the box on their site. Like most subscription companies, BullyMake offers several tiers based on the number of months you choose to subscribe.
- 1 month = $45/month
- 3 months = $39/month
- 6 months = $35/month
- 1 year = $31/month
Shipping is free with all plans except for the month-to-month plan.
What I Love
- The website is extremely clear about what you’re getting
- Good variety of toy materials to match your dog’s preferences
- Good value on the 1-year plan
- Some customization for grain, beef, or chicken allergies
- All treats are made in the US and so are most of the toys
The Less Desirable
- The month-to-month price is a little high
- Changes to your plan involve reaching out to customer service
- Reviews on BullyMake toys on other sites are mediocre
Verdict
For transparency, we don’t get this box. While Freyja is rambunctious and high-energy, she isn’t a big chewer. She has nylon toys that she doesn’t play with much because she prefers the feel of plushies. She also likes to run around with her toys, so smaller lighter toys are better. This box would be overkill for her.
If you have a power chewer, this seems well worth it, especially if you can get the 12-month plan delivered bi-monthly or quarterly. Durable toys, like Tuffy Toy brand, have cost me at least $8 each even for a small dog.
My only concern is that product reviews on other sites aren’t as high as I would like to see if I’m going to recommend them.
Alternatives
Both Pooch Perks and BarkBox offer a durable toy option, but I’m not sure how they compare to BullyMake. We haven’t been able to try all the options to compare yet.
